I am so, so, SO very excited about this piece, since I got to make it for the wedding of the two BEES: My totally freakin’ awesome cousin Bea, and her totally freakin’ awesome husband, Ben. They had the best wedding ever and I am honored to have been there.

Kudos to our friend Amy for putting together all the wine stuffs, and to my dear aunt Anna who asked me to do the label and then put me in touch with Amy. Hooray for teamwork!

Speaking of teamwork, these newly hitched bees make such an incredible team that I feel some kind of magical restored smiley hope for the world. Congrats, Bea and Ben! <3

Let’s raise a glass! We won an Emmy for HITRECORD on TV! It is so exciting to get this news as we work on the second season of the show. I am both stoked and honored to be a part of the ever-wonderful, inspiring, supportive community that is hitRECord.

Here’s to MAKING STUFF TOGETHER!

Fire Triangle - Heat

Check it out, dudes! Click above to view the latest (and charmingly hilarious) installment of Fire Triangle collaboration on hitRECord, animated by Mr. Felix Ding. I’m so excited we’ve teamed up! The lovely textured backgrounds have been contributed by tdolan, and all that crazy paper cutout imagery by yours truly. Enjoy!

Mr. Felix Ding encouraged me to contribute an octopus mom to the Moms in Nature collaboration that’s happening on hitRECord. So, taking a break from the Fire Triangle at some absurd hour last week, I did. And it was fun.

Scenery in process: More flames (of course!), mountains, and bushes for the Fire Triangle animation. I feel so lucky when I get to sit and make stuff!

Taping vellum and scraps of paper to the back of one of the houses for the Fire Triangle animation; holding it up to the light and imagining what it might be like to live in there; two almost-finished houses.

I’m so thrilled to have gotten to do this request video for hitRECord! Can’t wait to see how the project unfolds now that it’s an official collaboration.

My mom asked if I could make a card for her Swedish friend, so I did this. It was nice to fool around with colors and patterns… and hole punchers are so fun!

Hello, all! Happy Friday!
This week I received my very first check from hitRECord— I’m so excited! Above you can see the ad for HITRECORD on TV, as featured in the New York Times Magazine, which includes some of my paper cutouts. It’s been a little over a year since I jumped into the hitRECord community, and it’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve experienced. Everyone in this collaborative online production company leaves me inspired, and has taught me how much I enjoy working with other artists. Since joining up I’ve been overflowing with ideas and excited to work on whatever project comes up next…
Here’s a toast to making things together! *Clink!*

"What in the world have you been up to on this ‘hitRECord’?", you ask?

I’ve been staying up way past my bedtime making visuals for this weird animation, animated by Mr. Felix Ding, featuring my dad the fire inspector explaining the “fire triangle”. This is turning out to be a super fun collaboration, and Felix and I have much more in store for The Fire Triangle!
